Executive Summary

Hotel suites occupy a unique place in hospitality.

They often showcase a hotel’s most spectacular spaces, views and experiences. Yet they remain surprisingly difficult to define, compare and sometimes even find on booking platforms.

The Hotel Suite Report 2026, published by LASUITE.COM, explores this distinctive segment through luxury travel trends, industry data and an analysis of 30,000 hotel suites across 4,500 hotels and resorts in 45 countries.

1. Luxury hospitality continues to grow

The global luxury hotel market was valued at approximately $113 billion in 2025 and is expected to continue expanding over the coming years. In France, 4- and 5-star hotels now represent 28% of total hotel capacity, compared with 20% in 2015.

2. Luxury travel trends are naturally increasing the relevance of suites.

Family and multigenerational travel rank among the leading luxury travel trends for 2026/27, while privacy is one of the most sought-after experiences among ultra-luxury travellers. Space, privacy, personalisation and experience are becoming increasingly important factors when choosing accommodation.

3. There is still no universal definition of a hotel suite.

Junior Suite, Executive Suite, Penthouse, Presidential Suite, Villa or Residence: the word “suite” can describe very different experiences. LASUITE.COM’s analysis shows indicative sizes ranging from 40-60 sqm for a Junior Suite to more than 1,000 sqm for some villas and private residences.

4. The challenge is no longer finding a hotel. It is finding the right suite.

On most booking platforms, suites appear alongside dozens of other room categories. Yet the characteristics that matter most (number of bedrooms, size, separate living areas, terraces, private pools or views) can still be difficult to identify and compare from one hotel to another.

5. AI could fundamentally change how travellers discover suites.

Instead of starting with a series of filters, travellers can increasingly describe exactly what they are looking for: “A two-bedroom suite in Greece, with a private pool, sea view and enough space for a family of five.”

According to research featured in the report, 67% of travellers have already used AI for some aspect of their trip, while 89% would like to use AI for future travel planning.

6. But booking remains a matter of trust.

The report highlights an emerging travel journey: AI-powered conversational discovery, followed by booking through a trusted travel provider. Research cited in the study shows that 68% of travellers prefer booking with a trusted travel brand rather than through an AI chatbot or agent.

ARE HOTEL SUITES BECOMING A TRAVEL CATEGORY OF THEIR OWN?

From The White Lotus to honeymoons, family escapes, business trips and bleisure travel, a suite is increasingly more than simply “a larger hotel room”.

For many travellers, the suite itself is becoming part of the reason to travel.

This observation led to the creation of LASUITE.COM, a new platform dedicated exclusively to hotel suites. It brings together 30,000 suites across 4,500 hotels and resorts in 45 countries, allowing travellers to discover and compare suites before booking directly with the hotel or through Booking.com.
