Junior Suite, Nolinski Paris - Evok Collection, Paris

The Junior Suite at Nolinski Paris compresses 32 square metres into a study in proportion. John Whelan's hand is legible throughout, Art Deco geometry held in check by a palette that reads closer to the 1970s than to the Belle Époque, warm without sentimentality, structured without austerity. The result is a room that resists the usual Parisian hotel nostalgia and occupies its own decade entirely.

Spatial Poetry

At 32 metres, the footprint demands discipline. The single bedroom flows directly into the bathroom without the awkward antechambers common to suites of this category, the spatial logic is linear, deliberate. Light enters with the consideration of a building that understands its position: steps from the Palais-Royal, within the gravity of the Louvre, in a quarter where the streetscape itself sets a standard.

Material World

Whelan's interiors favour materials that deepen with use, lacquered surfaces, considered upholstery, hardware that resists the impulse toward decoration for its own sake. The Evok Collection's brief was restraint executed at a high level, and the Junior Suite delivers that brief in its tactile economy: nothing superfluous, nothing provisional.

Exclusive Rituals

Access to Nolinski's underground spa is the suite's most architecturally significant amenity, a heated pool operating year-round beneath the 1st arrondissement, insulated from both season and city noise. For a property of this scale and address, it is an unusual commitment to the physical. The surrounding cultural infrastructure (the Palais-Royal gardens, the galleries of the Louvre, the covered passages within walking distance) functions as an extension of the suite's offer, legible to guests who came for the city as much as the room.
