Suite, Nolinski Paris - Evok Collection, Paris

The Suite at the Nolinski Paris occupies 47 square metres in a building that has never confused ornamentation with identity. Positioned in the 1st arrondissement, between the Palais-Royal arcades and the Louvre's north wing, it operates within a neighbourhood where the built environment exerts a quiet, persistent pressure on everything inside it.

Spatial Poetry

John Whelan's intervention reads as a calibrated tension between two periods: Art Deco geometry held in check by the softer material vocabulary of the 1970s. The result is a suite that moves between formality and ease without announcing the transition. At 47 square metres for up to three, the proportions are deliberate, generous enough for the architecture to breathe, contained enough to remain intimate. The single bedroom anchors the plan; the bathroom reads as a room in its own right rather than a functional adjacency.

Material World

Whelan's palette favours surfaces that absorb light rather than reflect it, warm timbers, considered upholstery, the kind of material restraint that registers on re-entry rather than first impression. The Evok Collection's curatorial logic runs through the property consistently: nothing is sourced for spectacle, everything for duration.

Exclusive Rituals

Access to the Nolinski's underground spa is the suite's most architecturally significant extension. The heated pool operates year-round, insulated from the city above, a rare thermal constant in a Paris address. The ground-floor restaurant and the property's wider Evok infrastructure complete a framework that keeps external errands largely optional. For guests oriented toward the Palais-Royal garden, the Comédie-Française, or the galleries concentrated in this arrondissement, the suite functions as a precise base of operations.
