A room built on restraint, inside a hotel built on spectacle

The Premier Twin Room occupies 60 square meters on Avenue George V, in a hotel where the public rooms perform and the private rooms rest. This is not an entry category by default, it is the version of the classic Parisian suite logic (boiserie, silk, marble) applied to a twin configuration, built for two travelers who want their own bed and their own space to think. The seating area separates from the sleeping zone without a wall, a planning choice that reads as confidence rather than compromise.

The space and flow

At 60 square meters, the room holds a clear division: the bed area with extra-long beds exceeding 80 inches, and a distinct seating area with a sofa, positioned to function as a reading corner, a breakfast spot, or an informal meeting point. The wardrobe and closet space sits apart from the sleeping zone. Soundproofing is explicit in the specification, a detail that matters more here than almost anywhere else in Paris, given the address's proximity to Avenue Montaigne and the Champs-Élysées. The room is reached by elevator, with stair access also available for those on lower floors.

Design and finishes

Floors alternate between carpet in the sleeping zone and tile or marble underfoot in the bathroom, where the private bathroom includes both a bath and a separate shower, a bidet, and a full set of toiletries: shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower cap. Bathrobes and slippers extend the sense of a room designed for slow mornings. The furniture register follows the hotel's classic Parisian vocabulary: boiserie panelling, silk-finished textiles, nothing announced loudly. A flat-screen TV with satellite and cable channels, a DVD and Blu-ray player, and a CD player sit alongside more contemporary additions: an iPad, a mobile hotspot device, and a full suite of game consoles (PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo Wii) for those traveling with children or simply staying in.

The view and outdoors

Depending on orientation, the room opens onto a city view, a garden view, an inner courtyard view, or a quiet street perspective, the zinc roofs and stone balustrades of the Golden Triangle standing in for the postcard panorama. Daylight enters without the room ever facing directly onto the avenue's traffic, a function of the hotel's internal layout as much as the room's own placement.

Who is this for?

You are visiting Paris as a couple or with a travel companion and want two defined sleeping spaces without sacrificing a shared seating area for coffee or conversation. You are a parent traveling with one child, drawn by the crib option, the children's high chair, the baby safety gates and the board games and books available for younger guests. You are planning a short, dense stay built around the hotel's three Michelin-starred restaurants and want a room quiet enough to recover in between dinners at Le Cinq and L'Orangerie.

La Suite's verdict

This is the most rational entry point into the George V for two travelers who refuse to share a bed but still want the full weight of the address: the marble, the soundproofing, the six Michelin stars one floor below. The twin configuration is rare in Paris at this level of finish, and the separate seating area does real work rather than existing for show. Our one observation: the extra-long beds change the proportions of the room more than the square meterage suggests, worth requesting if you are over six feet. At 60 square meters, nothing here feels compressed, which is the quiet luxury of staying this close to the Champs-Élysées without hearing it.
