The bedroom, with its king bed and dressing room, sits apart from the living and dining areas, which include a sofa, a desk and a dedicated dining table, suited to a working breakfast or a private dinner for three. A second toilet and an additional bathroom mean guests can host without routing visitors through private quarters. Interconnecting rooms are available for families or traveling parties who need adjoining access without sacrificing separation. Soundproofing and carpeted flooring keep the suite insulated from the hotel's public rhythms.

Design and finishes

The interiors follow Joe Cheng's magnolia language, threaded through the hotel in stone, glass and light, carried here into tile and marble flooring, a walk-in shower, a separate bath, and a private hot tub within the suite's own bathroom. Bathrobes, slippers, pajamas and feather pillows complete a wardrobe of comfort, while hypoallergenic linens and a full set of toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body soap, shower cap) are prepared to hotel standard rather than left to a minibar shelf. A coffee machine and electric kettle sit beside the desk, for mornings that start before the rest of the Bund wakes.

The view and outdoors

The balcony is the suite's defining architectural gesture: a private outdoor platform furnished with its own seating, facing the Shanghai skyline and the historic Bund at the exact point where the Huangpu River meets Suzhou Creek. From the living area, the river and the old mullioned skyline fill the window line. Mornings here carry the particular light of the Bund, flat and silvered off the water, before the city's density takes over.

The balcony alone justifies the category, and the separate dining table makes it genuinely usable for entertaining, not just photographing. Our one observation: the private hot tub, tucked into the bathroom rather than the balcony, rewards late check-ins more than it does sunset views. For a couple or a small family wanting the Bund as a constant rather than an excursion, this is the suite to choose.
