Suite, Hôtel de Crillon, Paris
A residence on the square
Some hotel rooms ask you to adapt. This suite does not. At 116 square meters, with one bedroom and one bathroom, the proportions are closer to a Parisian apartment than a conventional hotel floor: a living room built for sitting rather than passing through, a dining area that can host rather than merely furnish, and a dressing room that assumes you travel with more than a carry-on. Choosing this suite over a standard room at Hôtel de Crillon means choosing to live in Paris for a few days, not simply sleep in it.
The space and flow
The one bedroom sits apart from the living and dining zones, giving the suite a clear separation between where you rest and where you receive. The dining table seats guests properly, a detail that matters if breakfast meetings or a late dinner delivered in house are part of the stay. A dressing room absorbs luggage and wardrobe alike, keeping the bedroom itself uncluttered. Soundproofing runs throughout the suite, so the square outside, however animated, stays outside.
Design and finishes
The bathroom follows the signature Crillon treatment: marble, heated from below, with a mirror that conceals a television and free toiletries lined up with quiet precision. Bathrobes, slippers and a shower cap are set out as standard, alongside shampoo, conditioner and body soap chosen for the house. Beds are dressed in Rivolta Carmignani Italian linen with extra long mattresses, a rare specification even among Paris's grand hotels. Carpeting underfoot, air conditioning set per room, and a wardrobe fitted into the dressing room complete a suite built on tactile detail rather than visible excess.
The view and outdoors
The suite includes an outdoor furniture setup and a dedicated outdoor dining area, letting a meal or a coffee happen outside the room itself, an uncommon configuration this close to Place de la Concorde. Light enters through windows onto the view the suite is set against, part of the hotel's eighteenth century facade and its classical surroundings.
Who is this for?
You are staying in Paris for a week with a partner and want one room that functions as both a private bedroom and a place to entertain, without stepping into a hotel lobby to do it. You are traveling with a child and need a suite equipped for a high chair and a genuine separation between the sleeping area and the rest of the space. You are in Paris for work, with a morning call to take and a dinner to host later that night, and the dining table and living area let you do both from the same address.
La Suite's verdict
This is the suite that makes the case for staying at Hôtel de Crillon rather than simply visiting it. The 116 square meters are used with intent: a real dining area, a real dressing room, a bathroom finished with the same materials found throughout the hotel's upper suites. Our one observation, worth noting before anyone else does: the underfloor heating in the bathroom turns a five minute stop into a reason to linger. For the location alone, Place de la Concorde at your window, this is among the most convincing suites in central Paris at this scale.
